Physical Education
We all work towards the common goal that all pupils leave our school physically literate and with the knowledge, skills and motivation necessary to equip them for a healthy lifestyle, with lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
We introduce our children to a wide range of sports in the hope that every child will find the sport for them.
Through our planned and sequenced curriculum, we aim:
- Build upon physical literacy within the Early Years;
- To develop a whole school approach to the teaching of PE and sport;.
- To make PE and sport enjoyable and accessible for all;
- To embed the physical literacy, emotional and thinking skills needed to succeed in PE and sport, with its benefits across the whole curriculum (not just in Early Years);
- To improve standards of achievement in PE and sport;
- To promote physical exercise and healthy-lifestyle choices.
Staff use the teaching materials from The PE Hub to ensure our learning is appropriate and challenging for all.
Bakewell CE Infants work in close partnership with Qualitas who provide high quality sporting provision within school.
Our children benefit from daily sports coaching during lunch times, 5 days a week, as well as a number of after school clubs which enable all children develop their sporting skill.
